BIA Tour: yes, that is bodyboarding

The Bodyboarder International Association (BIA) has announced the 2012 BIA Tour dates. California's iconic bodyboarding competition will kick off at the Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles, on the 17th March.

The 2012 BIA Tour is a very popular contest and has been a ramp to national and international stages. Many Californian riders start competing at the Amateur divisions and then move up to higher levels.

The 16th bodyboarding season of the BIA Tour will then move to the Seaside Reef, in San Diego, on the 17th April. The third stage is surfed at Salt Creek, on the 12th May.

The famous Zuma Beach will see the best Californian pro and amateur bodyboarders, on the 9th June. Malibu will certainly offer a top-rated wave to all participants.

The fifth stage of the 2012 BIA Tour is surfed in Huntington Beach Surf City USA, on the 4th August. The final contest is the BIA Championships, which return to Huntington Beach between 15-16th September.

The 2012 BIA Tour will feature several bodyboarding divisions: Youth 14 & Under, Juniors 15-17, Mens 18-29, Masters 30+, Drop-Knee, Womens, Soft Standup, AAA (Semi Pro), Open Pro and DK Pro.
