IBA World Tour: the excitement gets filmed

GoPro has become the naming sponsor for the 2013 IBA Grand Slam Series and played a critical role in the "go-ahead" decision to run the 30th Anniversary of the 2013 IBA Pipe Challenge, in Hawaii.

The jewel of the crown has been saved and the plea launched by the world bodyboarding community has seen the light of day. GoPro, the world's most famous surf camera company will be supporting the IBA World Tour.

"We are honestly blown away by your open hearted stoke for GoPro and cannot wait to share some waves with you at Pipe or wherever else our paths may cross in the water. It is awesome that you thought of us to help in this way and we are fired up to deliver", says Nicholas Woodman, CEO at GoPro.

The IBA GoPro Pipe Challenge will be held at the infamous Pipeline, on the North Shore of Hawaii from February 19th to March 1st, 2013. This year will be the 30th anniversary of this historic event that will see the best bodyboarders from around the world compete over four days of competition in the Mens, Womens and Drop Knee divisions.

Interestingly, the event will be streamed live utilising GoPro technology.

The push through, or punch through technique allows surfers to get past a small broken wave and reach the lineup without having to duck dive or turtle roll.
