Kymera Body Board: power to the rider

Jason Woods has followed his dream of building a jet-powered bodyboard and the Kymera has finally been born.

Ten years in the making. The cheap and easily transportable personal watercraft designed by Jason Woods has seen the light of day. The Kymera Body Board is in the market.

"The new jet-powered body board is light enough to carry under your arm, small enough to fit in the trunk of a compact sedan, and efficient enough to enjoy all day without breaking the bank", explains Woods.

The watercraft is the result of many tests. The first three prototypes ended up at the bottom of a lake, but the young garage designer persisted. The new all-electric Kymera Body Board is a reality.

"The estimated delivery is August 2013. Boards will be delivered on a first order, first deliver basis."

The base system weighs 48 pounds (21 kilograms) and is built with a durable roto-molded hull, as used in white water kayaks. The battery runs for one hour and the top speed is of 15 miles/hour.

With a simple trigger throttle control and an intuitive lean steering, it can ride waves faster and get to the far, distant line-up easily. The Kymera Body Board can be yours for $2,850.
