Marshall Watson: Port Elliot boy

Marshall Watson, the 2012 IBA Australasia Open champion, is returning to Knights Beach, Port Elliot, in South Australia.

Watson spent almost five years training and developing his professional bodyboarding career in the East Coast, but he has decided to return to home waters.

"The waves down here are so much better and more powerful. "I'll be focusing on getting some heavy waves that will give me the experience I need to go up a notch", says Marshall Watson.

"I still plan to follow the Rebel Tour in 2013, as well as maybe do a few trips to the IBA World Tour events", the bodyboarders adds.

Watson won the 2012 RAW National Bodyboarding Titles, in Kiama Beach. The next stop on the 2013 Rebel Pro Tour is the King of the BOX, to be surfed in Port Stephens, between August 29th and September 1st.

Surfing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will take place in the ocean, not in a wave pool. The waiting period runs from July 24 to August 9.
