Pierre-Louis Costes: party time in Chile

Pierre-Louis Costes has taken out the 2013 Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival, a Global Qualifying Series (GQS) event held in Chile.

The French bodyboarder secured first place and precious points, in pristine and challenging 6-to-8 foot wave conditions. Pierre-Louis Costes defeated Alex Uranga, in the final heat.

After winning the Semifinal against Magno Passos, the former world bodyboarding champion scored a total of 15.45 points over Uranga's 14.4 points.

"So happy to win the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival 2013 and, by the way, my first victory in Chile. Congrats to Alexandra Rinder for making a Grand Slam final, at 15 years old. Big thanks to Chilean crowd today!", says Costes.

In the Women's division, Australia's Emma Cobb imposed her experienced skills over the talented young rider Alexandra Rinder, only 15, from the Canary Islands.

The 2013 Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival also payed a tribute to Neymara Carvalho, who is retiring from professional bodyboarding in the Chilean waves.
