Itacoatiara Pro: white water challenges

The 2013 GoPro Itacoatiara Pro is set to hit Rio de Janeiro, between 6th-16th June.

It has already been considered the most powerful wave in Brazil. Itacoatiara returns to the IBA Grand Slam Series' circus, offering consistent swell, massive crowds and brilliant bodyboarding performances.

The fourth stage of the IBA World Tour is held in the city of Niteroi, near Rio de Janeiro, and sees Ben Player topping the rankings with almost 1000 points more than Jeff Hubbard.

Two world bodyboarding champions prepare to clash in the fast and hollow waves of Itacoatiara. Costão, Meio and Pampo are the three main breaks in the beach.

"The Itacoatiara Pro 2013 is the most important bodyboading event in Brazil. It's a great achievement and we're working hard to get it every year. I hope all Brazilian pro riders come here to compete and that all fans visit us to meet their idols", says Giuliano Lara, event manager.

The fine golden sands and bright blue, transparent water are ready to greet the world's best bodyboarders. Is Itacoatiara going to pump those powerful rides?
