Davis Blackwell: flying from Mandurah

The decisive and final stage of the 2013 SunSmart WA Bodyboard Titles will be surfed at Scarborough Beach, Western Australia, between 6th-7th July.

The best Western Australian wave riders will be crowned in eight separate divisions. Scarborough has provided some epic competition waves and only the top bodyboarders will qualify for the National Bodyboard Titles.

There will be competitors travelling from across Western Australia, with hopes of representing their state and etching their name alongside some of the state's most famous riders including Ryan Hardy, Chad Jackson, Chris White and Brad Hughes.

Local hopes include Jake Metcalfe (City Beach), Tim Fowler (Padbury) and Boden Hay (Mullaloo), while top rated regional competitors include Davis Blackwell (Mandurah), Ben Veitch (Margaret River), Noah Symmans (Albany) and Lee Wilson (Margaret River).

"Small and clean beach break waves are generally what we've experienced for Nationals previously, so this will be a great warm up for those chasing State Team positions. I'm confident we'll have ample opportunity for competitors with some nice banks on offer", explains Justin Majeks, Surfing WA events manager.
