Playa Parguito: capital of international bodyboarding contests

The 2013 ISA World Bodyboard Championship will be contested between 12th-19th October, at Playa Parguito, Venezuela.

The world bodyboarding competition sanctioned by the International Surfing Association (ISA) features more than 172 riders from 24 countries from around the world.

The 2013 ISA World Bodyboard Championship will see athletes taking waves for glory in five divisions: Open Men and Open Women, Under-18 Boys and Under-18 Girls, and Open Drop-Knee.

Drug testing will follow the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) guidelines and will be conducted on or around the final day of competition.

Playa Parguito is located in the North East area of Margarita Island. It offers 2000 meters of white sand shoreline, with oceanic waves, and is the most famous beach for bodyboarding.
