Amaury Lavernhe has taken out the Itacoatiara Pro 2015, in Niteroi, Brazil.

It is always a good start to win the opening event of the season. The 2015 APB World Bodyboarding Tour completed the first challenge of the year in spectacular ocean conditions, with waves hitting the 15-foot range.

The 2014 APB World Tour champion from Reunion Island defeated Uri Valadão in the final, with a solid result. Lavernhe collected a total of 15 points against the Brazilian's 5 points.

He was able to complete a pair of backflips and put Valadão in a combination situation from which he never recovered, in the three-to-five foot wave faces on offer.

"So proud and happy to win the Itacoatiara Pro. Thanks so much for every good vibes you gave me. Congrats to all riders and particularly to the finalists. It was great to ride with you guys! I love Brazil," expressed Amaury Lavernhe.

In the Pro Junior division, Tanner McDaniel defeated Matheus Bastos. The 2015 APB Tour will now travel to the Arica Chilean Challenge, an event run between July 17th-26th.
