There are people in this world that you cross paths with that bring with them knowledge and enlightenment. The inventor of the boogie board was one of them.
I was lucky enough to spend time with Tom Morey, who enlightened me about so many things from his taste in music to the first surfing contest.
His name and his inventions are known globally, but he does not have an ego which is something I admire. At the time, I was interviewing surfers and decided to go to the source.

Hats off to bodyboarders. Sometimes surfers have to acknowledge that they're not on the same level as prone riders.
I live and work in a place where there are waves for everyone - boys and girls, men and women, beginners and pros can get what they seek within less than five miles.
Because we're talking about a European region, blessed by regular northwest North Atlantic swells, piers and beach orientation rule the quality of the surf break and, in most case, the size of the waves these spots traditionally produce.

Jared Houston claimed the 2017 Fronton King in pumping six-to-eight waves at Galdar, Gran Canaria.
The final heats of the professional bodyboarding season got underway in classic El Frontón conditions, that is, with hollow barrels and vertical ramps.
The thunderous reef break came to life, and the world's best bodyboarders rose to the occasion by pulling in and coming out of the massive liquid cylinders in grand fashion.
