Peruvian Inka Challenge

Everything is ready for the 4th stop of the IBA World tour event that will take place for the first time in Peru.  The best bodyboarders will fight for a $20.000 dollars purse and 1000 points in the 2009 world ranking.

Most of the riders came to Peru before the opening date, to surf the awesome waves that the Peru Shoreline has to offer.  Ryan Hardy and Chad Jackson were the first international riders that came to Peru.

Ryan explained why he came so early “ I wanted to adapt my body to the food and also the waves.  I’ve surfed two consecutive days in Chilca with 8 feet solid sets.  It will be really nice to compete in that kind of wave.” Said the 2009 Pipeline winner.
Chad Jackson was the first victim of Chilca. He got wiped out by the wave and creased his board in a way that the deck split wide open and exposed the core.

Big swell coming

A 9 feet plus swell is coming and might reach Peru on Wednesday. Jose Ugarte, organizer of the competition explains some possible changes on the venue. “There might be a possibility of the completion start on the beach of San Pedro, because Chilca will be out of control. The forecast for the weekend is that we have a 6 to 8 feet no wind perfect condition for Chilca.”
This Monday will happen the Check in and Tuesday will have the official press meeting will all the major international riders. The next call will happened on Wednesday.
