Cesar Bauer: riding waves on his knees

Cesar Bauer has conquered the 2012 Peruvian Inka Challenge, in Punta Hermosa, Peru. The all-Peruvian final got Bauer against Pancho Galdón.

The local stars got an immense support from the Peruvian fans, from the very beginning of this IBA World Tour DK event. Cesar Bauer, former 2010 world champion, takes $3.000 and 2.200 points to lead the rankings.

"I am happy that I won on my beach and especially for my brothers Kiko and Pancho, all three Punta Hermosa locals. It has been a day I will never forget", said Bauer.

"Now comes Australia. The PIC is part of the past and tomorrow morning we start our preparation to keep focused for April. We will continue fighting to regain the crown", he added.

The 2012 Peruvian Inka Challenge podium was made of country riders, only. Pancho was incredible. In the semifinals, he defeated the Spanish Ardiel Jimenez, 2011 ISA DK champion, and got to the final.

Bauer defeated Pancho Galdón in the final, with a total score of 12.30. Galdón collected 9.86 points.
