Eunate Aguirre: smile, you did it

Eunate Aguirre has conquered the 2011 IBA World Tour title for the first time in her career. The bodyboarder from the Basque Country, in Spain, secured the world championship trophy in the Azores Islands Bodyboarding Festival.

Aguirre only need to win the semifinals of the event, but she ended up taking the overall contest, held in Santa Catarina, Ilha Terceira.

Eunate Aguirre exploded with joy, after knowing the last score from the judges.

The beautiful Spanish rider also took the European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) title and can finally enjoy the taste of world bodyboarding domination. She has been fighting for this moment in the last 15 years.

"I am super happy. When you can make something that involves so much work, it is a wonderful feeling", said Aguirre.

Eunate Aguirre was born in Bilbao, on the 24th May, 1982. She has a sister, Amaia, and she studied while hitting the waves since the age of 13. Aguirre started competing in 1996 and by 2000 she had already won two European titles (1998-1999 and 1999-2000).

Eunate Aguirre was runner-up in several IBA World Tour seasons, but 2011 sealed her life dream. She claimed the 2011 Women's IBA World Tour title.
