Marcus Lima: showing off sponsors

The best bodyboarders in the world have their eyes on the upcoming 12th ISA World Bodyboard Championships. The event will be surfed in the city of Gáldar, Gran Canaria, Spain, from November 30th until December 4th, 2011.

The El Frontón and La Guancha are two of the most gnarly surf spots for bodyboarding in the globe and will crown champions in Open Men (Prone), Open Women (Prone), Under 18 Men (Prone) and Open Drop Knee.

The heavy slab waves will defy bodyboard-only team riders looking for the medals and the honor of representing their countries.

Considered the European Hawaii, Canary Islands have world-class waves, constant temperature throughout the year (between 20ºC and 32ºC) and warm water. Galdar city generates some of the best waves in the world for bodyboarding. It has abundant, good accommodations and very welcoming people.

The last ISA World Bodyboard Championships were held in Costa de Caparica, Portugal, in 2008. Marcus Lima, from Brazil, was the grand winner of the competition.
