Jared Houston has taken out the Nazaré Pro 2015, in Praia do Norte, Portugal.

The four-man final held in wind-affected one-meter surf saw two South African bodyboarders - Houston and Tristan Roberts - riding against Amaury Lavernhe and Pierre-Louis Costes.

The French-speaking athletes opened the show with a few low-scoring waves, but Jared and Tristan wanted more, looked focused, and in-tune with the difficult ocean conditions. With a 9.50-point ride, Houston had the title in his hands.

"I'm still a bit short for words to describe my feelings right now, but I just wanted to thank you all for your killer support and well wishes throughout the year and this event," noted Jared Houston.

"After today's win, I now find myself leading the APB World Tour heading into the last event in Puerto Rico, the Encanto Pro Cultura 2015. I am so excited for the title battle between Amaury Lavernhe, Pierre-Louis Costes and myself, it's going to come down to the wire."

The Nazaré Pro 2015 crowned a new APB Women's World champion - Alexandra Rinder - and female event winner Ayaka Suzuki. The Men's world title will be decided between September 29th and October 4th, in Puerto Rico.
