Pierre-Louis Costes has taken out the 2021 World Cup Gran Canaria Frontón King, at Gáldar in Gran Canaria, Spain.

The last day of competition got underway in firing conditions, with plenty of ramps and barreling opportunities.

In an exciting final, Costes beat Dailos Rodriguez, Miguel Rodríguez, and Tristan Roberts.

"I am really happy. I love this event, and we had incredible conditions," expressed the newly-crowned Frontón King.

French bodyboarder Amaury Lavernhe won the Red Bull Banana Challenge, an award for the best aerial maneuver of the contest.

The former world bodyboarding champion earned $1,000 for a breathtaking air reverse.

Local talent Luis Tausía ended up claiming the IBC World Junior title after defeating Joel Rodrigues in the decisive heat.

"I can't believe it. The big waves put me to the test. I am not used to these types of conditions. But I tried to stay focused and give my best," concluded Tausía.

An Ever-Growing Event

Daniel Hernández, event director and co-founder of the IBC World Tour, was ecstatic with the showdown.

"El Frontón King grows and gets better every year, and that makes me happy and pleased," noted Hernández.

"We had a bodyboarding event in the world's best wave with the stands full of fans and one of the shows in the water we've seen in recent years."

"We will return next year and as the world reference in professional bodyboarding."

The organization of the Spanish contest named Gabriel Molina the best Canarian junior bodyboarder of the 2021 Frontón King.

As a result, the rider will have all his expenses paid for the three Chilean events held in the upcoming 2022 IBC Bodyboarding World Tour.
