Pipe Challenge 2013 confirmed with Grand Slam status

The 2013 IBA Pipe Challenge has been officially re-instated to full IBA World Tour Grand Slam Series status.

The International Bodyboarding Association has announced that the 30th IBA Pipe Challenge will be contested with the full features, for all three divisions: Men, Women and Drop-Knee.

"Once again, the IBA would like to thank the large and passionate bodyboard community for the positive efforts by the majority of followers to work towards an outcome in light of the situation with the 2013 Pipe Challenge", says Alex Leon, IBA World Tour manager.

"It is a proud day to be a bodyboarder. We look forward to providing you with further updates in the coming days. See you in Hawaii".

Last minute sponsorship discussions has resulted in a great outcome for the athletes and fans of the IBA World Tour. The iconic Pipe Challenge is back on track. The support has come from various companies. Details will be unveiled in the next weeks.

The original event window of February 16th through March 1st is kept on. The Trials event will commence on the 16th February, at Turtle Bay Resort, on the North Shore of Hawaii.

There will be a minimum of three full days of professional live streaming of the event. All Pipe competitors should confirm their flights to Hawaii.
