Team Port Macquarie Bodyboarding Association has taken the 2013 Port Macquarie Teams Challenge, in cloudless skies and perfect 2-3 feet surf, at Breakwall, New South Wales.

The best New South Wales clubs battled for glory on the Australian holy grail of bodyboarding's grass roots trophy.

The rip bowl at Breakwall is a consistently good right hand wave, and when the tide runs out between the groins, the wave stands up and grinds into the rocks allowing for some great performances.

The first day of competition was dominated by the locals, but South Central Coast Bodyboarders (SCCB) and Sydney Bodyboard Club (SBC) were hot on their heels, with less than 10 points separating first and third, at day's end.

After the first few heats it was evident that this would be a three horse race with PMBA, SCCB and SBC all in the running.

Later, organizers decided to hold back the results and this only added to the tension, as PMBA had a string of poor results and SBC and SCCB both looked to be dominating heats.

In the end, the consistency of PMBA "A" Team (94 points) was just enough to push them two points clear of SBC (92 points) and claim their 7th straight victory. SCCB (91 points) was third, fourth place went to North Bodyboard Club (NBC), fifth was Forster Tuncurry Bodyboard Association (FTBA) and PMBA "B" Team kept sixth.

"We had to work hard for this one. Having so much experience really helped in those last few heats and I really thought that either SBC or SBBC may have got us", said Damian King as he accepted the trophy.
