Riptide Mag: from Australia to the world

Riptide Bodyboarding Magazine has been sold to its designer and developer, Dave Heavyside.

Morrison Media Group has sold one of the oldest bodyboarding magazines in the world.

Founded in 1989, Riptide Mag has been capturing the best bodyboarding action from around the world.

While many fans may be in a state of shock, there are reasons to believe in the future of Riptide.

The Australian-made publication will be managed by a passionate and independent professional.

"I have some exciting news to share. Today, I concluded an in-principle agreement with Dave Heavyside to purchase Riptide magazine, and this will be effective from 31 October 2013", Craig Sims, general manager of Morrison Media, wrote our friends at Le Boogie.

"We believe Riptide will thrive under a smaller, more focused publishing business, and Dave has the passion and smarts to make a success of it."
