The 2019 Mike Stewart Pipeline Invitational has been officially confirmed.

The Association of Professional Bodyboarders (APB) announced that the main event has a one-day permit and a waiting period that spans from February 24 through March 8.

The first contest of the APB World Tour season will be a 3-Star event on the Qualifying Event Series Tour (QEST), and will only feature male riders.

However, the organization says that there will be two women and drop-knee exhibition heats with the top 4 competitors in both divisions.

Mike Stewart, who will simultaneously be the host, sponsor, and competitor, believes that because it's been an extremely active winter on the North Shore, we are virtually guaranteed of getting a great day" for running the show.

The format has already been confirmed. The 2019 Mike Stewart Pipeline Invitational will feature APB's top 24, eight invitees, four wildcards, and four trialists.

There will be four-man heats of 20 minutes each. The Pipe Trials will be held at Kea'au Beach Park, on the west coast of Oahu, from February 18-23.

"We've got a one-day permit secured for 2019, and multi-day permits for 2020 and 2021. So, we hope that next year, this will once again be a Grand Slam event," concludes APB World Tour manage, Terry McKenna.
