The company - founded by Thomas Hugh Morey in 1973 - designed, developed, and marketed more than 45 Morey Boogie models between 1973 and 1994.
Tom Morey started manufacturing the early models in his garage, but the business rapidly expanded and became an international water sports giant.
At a certain point, the young entrepreneur from Detroit compared the relevance of the boogie board to the invention of the spoon and Gutenberg's printing press.
Morey sold the Boogie to Kransco in 1977, when he was producing and selling more than 80,000 bodyboards per year.
