Pinball is a family of games in which a ball is propelled into a specially designed table where it bounces off various obstacles, scoring points either en route or when it comes to rest.

It is typically played on a coin-activated electromechanical game machine. The game originated in its modern form in about 1930.

It is usually found in candy stores, pool halls, drinking establishments, and amusement arcades.
