Rob Douglas: speed determination

Rob Douglas has been the fastest kiteboarder at the 2014 Sosh Cup, held in Leucate, France.

The North American rider was able to defeat the current world speed record holder Alex Caizergues, as well as the windsurfing speed master Antoine Albeau.

Rob Douglas also managed to set a new course record for Leucate at 46.53 knots. The Sosh Cup takes each rider's two best runs per heat to get the rankings.

After 10 rounds of racing in winds averaging between 20 and 40 knots, Rob held on to first place to win the Sosh Cup for the second time.

Antoine Albeau secured second place and Alex Caizergues finished in the third spot. The Sosh Cup is a speed event which gathers the world's fastest kitesurfers and windsurfers.
