Joey Pasquali: breaking records on a hydrofoil kite

Joey Pasquali has sailed to victory at the 2014 Ronstan Bay Challenge, held at the St. Francis Yacht Club.

The long distance race attracted kiteboarders and windsurfers, but those riding hydrofoil kite systems managed to finish first. Incredibly, the fastest eight sailors were on hydrofoil kites.

Pasquali was the only rider finishing in less than one hour. He took 54 minutes and 54 seconds to steal the 2014 Ronstan Bay Challenge Long Distance Race.

This also means that last year's record of 1h12m was crushed by seven kiteboarders. The best windsurfer was Chris Radkowski, who complete the race in ninth place overall.

Geoff Headington was the best in the Formula Kite division. He finished in the 13th position overall.

The Course Racing titles crowned Johnny Heineken (Hydrofoil Kite), Steve Bodner (Formula Windsurfing) and Geoff Headington (Formula Kite).

Finn McGill and Vahine Fierro claimed the 2017 World Surf League (WSL) World Junior Championship at Bombo Beach, New South Wales, Australia.
