One hundred and ten kiteboarders will try to finish Southern Hemisphere's largest kiteboarding race, on the 6th December.

The 2014 Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton will kick off from Phillip Point at Rottnest Island. Riders will try to sail in less than 25 minutes before touching firm land in Leighton Beach, Fremantle.

The record is set at 23 minutes and 50 seconds by Marvin Baumeister. The fifth edition of the kiteboarding race will feature international champions, including Steph and Olly Bridge, as well as past winners of the event.

The Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton is a 19-kilometer adventure in the Indian Ocean with a total of $9,625 in cash prizes, with equal money to both men and women.

A Twin Tip division will also crown its winners. Race starts at 2.30pm
