Ewan Jaspan claimed the 2017 Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational, held at Real Watersports, in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

The most prestigious wake style kiteboarding event on the planet attracted 30 athletes from 15 different nations.

Riders had several challenges to overcome in a world-class kite park: Core Super Kicker, John Wayne 82ft Mega Rail, KOA Resorts Kicker, Liquid Force Reverse Rainbow, and the North A-Frame.

The event had a wide variety of weather conditions, and kites were flying sizes ranging from 13 meters to 6 meters. And because the best kiteboarders were pulling the same tricks, winners were decided on details like grab time, style, and extra rotations.

In the women's division, four well-known riders fought hard for first place. Colleen Carroll was able to land a crow mobe and beat her opponents Annelous Lammerts, Karolina Winkowska, and Sensi Graves.

"I'm ecstatic about taking home the win at the 2017 Triple-S Invitational! It was a super tough competition from start to finish, but I had a blast shredding with these ripping ladies all week. Let's do it again soon!" expressed Carroll.

The men's final had five legends of the sport. Brandon Scheid pulled the biggest 720 of the contest, and a beautiful moby dick 5, and finished third. Sam Light did his best to defend his title, but it was Ewan Jaspan who won it all with a highly technical and stylish performance.

"It is a life goal come true. I'm so happy to be up there with all the legends of the sport. It was a dream! Big congrats to Colleen as well for taking it out in the women's division, stepped up to the task and showed everyone what's up! It was the best week ever," concluded Jaspan.
