Dreamland: a new kitesurfing movie by Anders Krüger featuring Keahi De Aboitiz and Moona Whyte | Photo: Cabrinha

There has always been a dispute over the name of the sport. Is it kiteboarding or kitesurfing?

"Dreamland," a compilation of wave kiting footage featuring Keahi De Aboitiz and Moona Whyte, helps us figure out how to distinguish both terms.

In fact, kitesurfing is more about flying a kite and hitting the waves. Somehow like a surfer, but pulled by a large kite. Interestingly, purist kitesurfing enthusiasts tend to use strapless surfboards, only.

From this angle, kiteboarding could be fairly considered a gliding wind sport, in which riders mainly navigate across the relatively flat water to gain speed and perform freestyle tricks and maneuvers.

Having said that, and if you're kitesurfing fanatic, there's a lot to learn from "Dreamland." De Aboitiz and Whyte put out a solid display of wave sailing, punctuated by flawless lip hits, barrels, carves and cutbacks.

The kitesurfing video was filmed on the North Shore of Oahu, in Hawaii, and is filled with 100 percent right-hand waves. And these multiple-time world champions sure know how to deal with them.

"What a winter! After a couple of years plagued with injuries, it felt amazing to put down a full season back in Hawaii feeling good again! Massive thanks to Anders Krüger for being there to document it and putting together another masterpiece," expressed Keahi De Aboitiz.

Krüger is the man who also shot "Capetown Confidential" "The Value of Nowhere." In "Dreamland," he had to shot from a long distance using special lenses.

"I love working with Anders. He’s so mellow and chill, so you always feel comfortable in front of the camera. And he’s always really stoked about the shots. Naturally, the videos always come out really cool," adds Whyte.
