TAP: a surfer-friendly airline company

Portuguese airline company TAP has launched a campaign for kitesurfing and windsurfing transportation.

In an effort to deliver good travelling conditions to the wind and wave riders, TAP will allow kitesurfers and windsurfers to ship their gear to the Island of Sal, in Cabo Verde, with special rates, during a certain period of time.

To and from Sal, for travel between 12 April and 30 October 2010 (excluding the period of 1 July to 31 August 2010), the transport of kitesurfing and windsurfing equipment will cost 50 euros, one-way.

The Island of Sal is a golden wind destination in the African Continent.

In 2005, Pepsi defied the surfing community by releasing a commercial in which famous soccer stars break the surfers-only beach rule implemented by a group of local wave riders.
