Red Bull Ragnarok: where only the strongest survive

The best kiteboarders in the world are already invited to a thrilling winter challenge. The 2011 Red Bull Ragnarok will gather 200 riders from the five continents to battle in the icy cliffs of Hardangervidda, in Norway.

With strong winds and negative temperatures the competition tests the physical and mental performances of any professional kiteboarders. Add snow and vertical mountains and meet “Ragnarok”, a true legend from the Norse mythology where the a battle between the good and the evil gods is only for the toughest.

Ruben Lenten and Aaron Hadlow were some of the stars which attended the event last year. The snow kiteboarding contest is a three-hour race of 20 kilometres.

Round after round, the weakest will always be eliminated, until “Ragnarok” crowns the grand champion of the white snow.

Endurance is the key to success. Only the fittest and the strongest may cross the finishing line and obstacles are everywhere

Thirty Formula GPS kiteboarders battled it out on the mountains of the Alto Sangro, Italy, for the second leg of 2018 IKA Snowkite World Cup.
