Diani Beach: relax and enjoy the winds

Kenya is getting ready for the 2011 Diani Kitesurfing Competition, to be held in Diani Beach, between December 28th-29th. The last stage of the country's yearly competitions will promote new rider to the international kiteboarding scene.

Also know as Kenya Cup, the event will feature reigning champ, Xan Woods, a kiteboarder who already has experienced pro contests, all over the world.

The 2011 Diani Kitesurfing Competition is an Open event and will be contested during summer, in Africa. Expect steady 20-25 knots of cross-on Northeasterlies, a Kaskazi equatorial trade wind which holds up until the end of March.

All kiteboarders will be launching their kites at Forty Thieves Beach Bar and Restaurant, on the South Coast. All proceeds from the riders entry will be channeled to the Colobus Monkey Conservation Trust.

The Kenyan winds are expecting everyone to ride along at the annual Diani Kitesurfing Competition.

Whether you think of a kite as a wing or a sail, you want it to be lightweight, resistant, waterproof, but also stiff and flexible at the same time, so that they could respond to all flight requests.
