Robert Moses State Park: no kiteboarding, they say

The New York State Parks have forbidden all kiteboarders from training their sport in the entire recreational system.

Although the network of beaches under the New York State Parks management is of public access, the fact is kiteboarding has been banned.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is currently taking control of 168 state parks and 78 developed beaches.

There are 14 miles of public beaches in the region. Interestingly, surfing is allowed.

A petition is already being signed online in order to remove the ban on kiteboarding in the incredible natural spots for sailing in New York.

New York kiteboarders are looking forward to having an official designated area in which they can enjoy wind rides and, at the same time, protect Nature and visitors.

Recently, the New York State Parks has also created a smoke-free policy in all parks, historic sites, playgrounds, beaches, and pools.
