Rob Douglas: the fastest kiteboarder on Earth

Rob Douglas and Charlotte Consorti are the 2012 Kite Speed world champions.

The fastest riders on the planet battled for glory in harsh weather conditions for kiteboarding, in Salines de Giraud, France. The winds were constatly shifting in every direction and making it tough to catch the right way down the course.

Rob Douglas, the fastest sailor in the world, took an early lead with two bullets. The North American speed kiteboarder kept racing in the top three positions, very consistently, and keeping himself in winning contention. His best speed was 36.43 knots.

The final results were confirmed in the last day. Douglas and Consorti left the Ouest Provence of France in the highest places of the podium.
