Hookipa: plenty of wave for the kites

The world's best wave kitesurfer will be crowned in the Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro 2013, at Hookipa Beach Park, Hawaii, from November 22nd to December 1st.

The Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro 2013 will start off with a qualification round, leading up to the highlight of the event - the Kite Surf World Championships.

Riders such as Keahi DeAboitiz, Mitu Monteiro, Airton Cozzolino, Pedro Henrique, and Sky Solbach have already a place in the main event.

On the Women's side, Jalou Langeree, Ines Correia, Milla Ferreira, Kristin Boese, Kalia Agueira, Moona Whyte, Suzanne Kuiper, Isa Cohen, Erika Lindberg are confirmed as top seeds.

During the contest, side events will create additional action. The Legends' Heat, featuring long-term Maui kite heroes, a Xensr measured Big Air contest, and the local Kamaaina Throw Down competition.

"Hookipa is just the perfect location for this KSP event. We are looking forward to having the best of the best compete in this famous venue", says Nicholas Thiede, KSP tour manager.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved surfing's qualification system for the Tokyo 2020.
