The 2014 KiteFoil GoldCup will make its debut with five world events.

The International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) is giving the kite class a brand new global competition series.

"The format of racing will include a wider variety of courses depending on the local conditions, to make racing as challenging and fun as possible", IKA explains.

"Rob Dean has been appointed Technical Director for this event series and will be joined by our usual race officers and judges in order to provide top notch racing as the first priority, with full on media coverage close behind that".

Five venues have already been confirmed, but there may be announced more in the near future, once they're fully confirmed.

The 2014 KiteFoil GoldCup will kick off in La Ventana, in Mexico, in March, 2014. United Arab Emirates, Greece, Italy and Australia will follow.
