Alex Caizergues is the fastest kiteboarder in the world

The World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) has announced the ratification of a new World Record.

Alexandre Caizergues is now the fastest kiteboarder on the planet, with an average speed of 50.98 knots in 501 meters.

The French athlete got this overwhelming result at Luderitz, Namibia, during the 2009 LuderitzSpeed Challenge.

The World Record was broken in 19.03 seconds with a Fone Prototype 2009 and a Fone Bandit 3, 8 sqm kite.
