American doctor dies kitesurfing

East Matunuck Beach: never ride by yourself

A 61-year-old doctor has passed away while kitesurfing at East Matunuck Beach, USA. Michael Infantolino, from Jamestown, was an orthopedic surgeon serving as a member of Kent Hospital’shonorary medical staff.

Beachgoers spotted Infantolino’s wrecked kitesurfing equipment floating in the water several hundred yards from shore. Lifeguards dragged Infantolino to shore and performed CPR on him.

The doctor was then taken to the South County Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation.
