Britain's National Kitesurf Tour will kick off in the Walney Island, Barrow-in-Furness.

The Dong Kitefest Barrow will run from 19th-21st July. UK's top riders will compete in the main freestyle disciplines, while on the land the freestyle kitelandboard and kite buggy riders will have a Jam format.

"Barrow is a great venue to hold our events. It's a fantastic kitesurfing beach with amazing views up to the Lake district in the north and Morecambe Bay in the other direction", says Richard Gowers of the British Kitesports Association.

"Earnse Bay is excellent for spectators; the shingle ridge gives an elevated view over the beach so people can take in the action on the sea, and the kite landboard and buggy competitions on the beach".

Last year's tour winners Dan Sweeney, from Goring, and Polly Crathorne, from Kent, will be looking to make a great start to the season and gain maximum points after a long winter training.
