Liam Whaley, Kevin Langeree, Keahi de Aboitiz, Karolina Winkowska, Gisela Pulido and Jalou Langeree have claimed the first event of the Virgin Kitesurf World Championships, held in Dakhla, in Morocco.

The Prince Moulay el Hassan Kiteboarding World Cup Dakhla 2015 had near-perfect wind conditions for the entire week. The new season is underway, and what a way to start it off.

In the Freestyle division, Liam showed why a fifth year on the Tour can be an advantage. He delivered the highest heat total of the event in the semi-final: a 39.6. Karolina and Gisela had an epic clash, but the Polish prevailed with a variety of powerful manoeuvres, including a KGB.

In Big Air, Kevin battled in 25-knot winds and showcased commitment, strength and confidence to defeat Marc Jacobs, Jesse Richman, and Oswald Smith. Pulido flew higher than Hanna Whiteley.

In the Wave category, Jalou was able to win against Moona Whyte and Keahi managed to succeed against Pedro Henrique. Riders will now travel to France for the Mondial du Vent.
