Engadinwind: windsurfers versus kiteboarders

Dirk Hanel has been crowned winner of the 35th edition of the EngadinWind, in Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland.

Oliver Bridge, the 15-year old British kiteboarder, won the Surf Marathon and completed the competition in 46 minutes and 27 seconds, ahead of Dirk Hanel and Martin Mike. The best windsurfer was Nicolas Warembourg.

The EngadinWind Surf Marathon is one of the longest running events in Europe and attracted more than 130 kiteboarders, windsurfers and other sailors. Dirk Hanel took the "Best of 3" competition, a combination of Speed, Slalom and Course Racing.

The "Best of 3" competition was clearly dominated by kiteboarders, with Dirk Hanel taking victory ahead of windsurfer Patrik Diethelm and multiple-time world windsurfing champion Bjorn Dunkerbeck.
