Gisela Pulido: winning since she was born

Gisela Pulido, eight-time world kiteboarding champion, has joined the Best Kiteboarding international team. The Spanish rider was born in Barcelona, in 1994.

Pulido is the youngest world champion in the history of the sport. She has been voted one of the most influential women in Spain, despite only having her first contact with kiteboarding in the summer of 2001. The baptism was in July 2002.

The young sportswoman classified 1st in the sub-18 category and 2nd in the sub-21 category in the 2003 European Junior Championships.

In 2004, Gisela confirms an amazing season in New Caledonia, where she is crowned KPWT world champion in November, at the age of 10. The young kiteboarding promise moves with her family to Tarifa, where she combines her studies with daily trainings.

In 2007, Gisela Pulido is nominated to the Laureus World Sport Awards, in the Extreme Sports category. A new record: she is the youngest sportswoman ever nominated to this award.

In November of 2007, Gisela obtains the Guinness World Record for the Youngest World Champion ever. In 2010, the Spanish rider crosses the Gibraltar Strait competing against the ferry that links Tarifa to Tanger.
