Kiteboarders have successufully crossed the English Channel

Five men have kitesurfed across the Channel in an attempt to break the world record (2h30m) and helped raising cash for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Jamie Brakewell and friends have successfully made it from Dungeness (Kent, UK) to Boulogne (France) and collected £6,700 so far.

The sportsmen checked the weather forecast (swell and winds), ship traffic and gear conditions before departure.

It is still not clear if the kitesurfers have bettered the world record, but they have certainly crossed the Channel.

Stay tuned for more pictures and updates.
