Keahi de Aboitiz: barreled at Teahupoo

Just because you ride a kite doesn't mean you can't get barreled at Teahupoo.

Keahi de Aboitiz is one of the best wave kitesurfers in the planet. He won two Kite Surf Pro (KSP) World Championship Tour titles, and he has always had a special taste for big wave riding.

The Australian kiteboarder has Hawai, Mauritius, and Indonesia as his favourite kite destinations, but this time he chose Tahiti to deliver one of the most exciting clips of the year.

Despite the thick lips and the heavy barrels, de Aboitiz grabbed the right of rail his strapless board and surfed one of the most challenging waves of his career.

"I Was lucky enough to score a couple bombs kiting with just a handful of guys out towing. It definitely goes down as some of the biggest kiting barrels of my life!" wrote Keahi de Aboitiz.

The 22-year-old kitesurfer won't forget his solo session at Teahupoo, and proved once again that kite lines aren't a problem in the barrel. Is anyone stepping up to for a bigger ride?
