2010 Luderitz Speed Challenge: goodbye l'Hydroptère

Absolutely amazing. The l'Hydroptère no longer holds the world's fastest speed sailing record.

In the 2010 Luderitz Speed Challenge, the record of 51.36 was broken numerous times. Kitesurfers were delivering top performances and the second Luderitz lagoon lived up to all expectations.

Everyone improved their personal best sailing speeds and five competitors reached 50 knots and more. In Luderitz, winds reached 40 knots. The Speed Sailing Hall of Fame will be full of incredible times, achieved in Namibia.

All the speeds record will have to be accepted by the World Speed Sailing Record Council (WRSSC).
