Maxime Nocher won the first stop on the 2017 Hydrofoil Pro Tour, held in Playa Central, La Ventana, Baja California Surf, Mexico.

The event attracted 57 riders from 23 countries. The famous local wind conditions ranged from super light on day one with five races, and low wind conditions on day two with three races.

In day three and four, the wind picked up, and kiteboarders enjoyed the power of El Norte, blowing at between 20 and 30 knots.

The Hydrofoil Pro Tour has quickly become the most followed and recognized kiteboard racing event in the world. The amazing part is, what makes it valuable is the commitment and loyalty the riders and manufacturers have for the Tour and its organizers.

Since 2014, a group of dedicated kite industry professionals "plotted" to bring more excitement into kite racing and foilers began working hard, all over the world, to promote one event that would bring the most talented people in the foil world together.

This discipline - kite foil racing - has evolved and prevailed immensely over the course of the last three race seasons and shows true promise in advancing the exposure of the sport.

The Hydrofoil Pro Tour is to kiteboarding what Formula One is to car racing. The second stop will be held June 2-5 in Montpellier, France. The circuit will then travel to San Francisco, Fehmarn, Pointe d'Esny, and wraps up in Rockingham.
