Kiteboarding: racing rules avoid line entanglement

Kiteboard course racing has official rules. The International Kiteboarding Association and the International Sailing Federation have released a rulebook for riders.

Race signals, fundamental rules, protests, race organization, scoring, clothing and equipment, judgement and procedures for appeals are all part of the 2013-2016 edition of the guide.

The Kiteboard Course Racing Rulebook has been released and created as a convenient book for sailors and officials for use at kiteboard course racing events.

The rules in it are identical to the corresponding rules in the Racing Rules of Sailing for 2013-2016. However, each rule in Appendix F has been moved into the appropriate rule in Parts 1-7 and each definition that is changed in Appendix F is shown in red.

Rules for other kiteboard racing formats (such as Kitecross, Slalom, Boarder X) or other kiteboard competitions (such as Freestyle, Wave, Speed) are not included in this rulebook.
