Nicolas Parlier and Daniela Moroz have taken out the 2019 Formula Kite World Championships, in Lake Garda, Italy.
Despite the tricky wind conditions and the attacks from their closest opponents, the French and American kiteboarders were able to successfully defended their world titles.
"It's been an interesting week. I played it safe. I got two thirds, one first and one second in the finals. I felt fast, and had a lot of people getting really close to me," said Parlier.
"The starts were insane. We were a fleet of 30 riders in the gold fleet. It was crazy."
On the women's side, Moroz managed to win her fourth consecutive Formula Kite world title. And she's only 18 years old.
"All the hard work paid off. It was one of the most challenging regattas I've been to. Lake Garda is a tactical place, and it was all about sailing smart and going off the wall," added Moroz.
"Elena is the queen of light wind and I have so much to learn more and get better on that front."
Formula Kite will make its Olympic debut in Paris 2024.
