Ilya Vinokurov: the Russian kiteboarding czar

Russia, the largest country in the world, has joined the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKA). The Russian Kite Association, led by Ilya Vinokurov, is now a full member of the organization managing the global administration of the sport.

Ilya Vinokurov is also one of the IKA's Olympic Ambassadors. The bid for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Summer Games is getting stronger.

"Kiteboarding is the most accessible and democratic sport compared to other sailing disciplines. Everyday it attracts new young and dynamic people from different social classes. I believe Kiteboarding will refresh the Olympic Sailing Competiton significantly, making them more spectacular, impressive and emotional", says Vinokurov.

At the same time, IKA has upgraded its website.
