Brandon Scheid and Annelous Lammerts claimed the 2019 Triple-S Invitational, in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
The world's best progressive kiteboarders have once again hit the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" for another highly successful wake-style event.
This year, the premier kite park was blessed with plenty of southwest and north wind, and judges carefully analyzed the riders' based on trick hierarchy, difficulty, risk, intensity, variation, and execution.
Athletes performed heelside and toeside spins and inverts on kickers, and back and frontside boardslides on rails.
The Real Slider Park was divided into three areas consisting of up to two features each. The angle of each feature was set and confirmed by a selection of Triple-S competitors.
The sum of a competitor's top scores from each feature resulted in an overall score.
In the men's division, Scheid narrowly secured his fourth Triple-S Invitational title.
"What a week! Thanks everyone for throwing the best contest in kiteboarding. The field of competitors was deeper than ever before, so I was jazzed to come away with the top spot. Let the good times keep rolling in!" expressed Scheid.
In the women's comp, Annelous Lammerts was finally able to win the prestigious event.
"It a dream come true! Thank you so much for putting on the biggest and sickest competition and everything you're doing for the sport! This all still feels pretty unreal! Congrats to all these ladies for crushing it!" added Lammerts.
