Iberian Kite Championships: go for it

The 2012 Kiteboarding Course Racing Iberian Championship has been scheduled to Vilamoura, in Portugal, from 18th-20th February.

The competition includes the Open, Production and Twin Tips board divisions and will be organized by CIMAV - Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura.

The best course race kiteboarders of Spain and Portugal will battle for top honours in a region with great wind conditions for sailing. The Algarve region also offers the highest sun exposure rates in Europe.

Vilamoura is one of Europe's largest tourist beach resorts. In the past, there have been PKRA and KPWT kiteboarding contests in the Algarve.

Portugal and Spain have two world kiteboarding champions. Inês Correia and Gisela Pulido have taken the 2012 wave and freestyle titles.
