Kiteboarding: freestyle is for free souls

The first PKRA/IKA Freestyle Junior World Championships will be held in San Pere Pescador, Costa Brava, between July 2nd-7th, 2013.

The new kiteboarding event promises that many of the top pros will come out and perform demos for the young rippers, as they compete for glory in five divisions.

The inaugural PKRA/IKA Freestyle Junior World Championships 2013 will have three competitions for Boys (8-11, 12-14 and 15-16 years old) and two for Girls (8-13 and 14-16 years old).

The winners of each category will be declared Kiteboarding Junior champions and will gain experience at the highest level of competition.

The competition will be based on the PKRA Freestyle judging criteria and the winners will be chosen by official PKRA judges that work on the world tour. Technical tricks with power, style and a clean execution will define the champions.

All Junior riders will also compete in an Expression Session, so that judges can seed the best riders fairly on the contest ladder.
